Catch a movie, go bowling, play arcade games, or "get rural" and come experience the weekly cattle sale or the monthly chicken fry at the VFW. AND - The Oakley Parks & Pool offer summertime fun for the whole family.
Oakley also hosts many family-friendly annual events including fourth of July fireworks, July County fair and carnival, October fall festival, Thanksgiving parade, craft shows and more. Check the event schedule.

AT THE MOVIES
Each year Oakley High School students apply for the class that runs the theatre. Students run equipment, schedule workers for the concession stand, pay the bills and learn the business of running a business.
The idea is unique enough that the Palace Theatre has been featured in People Magazine and on ABC national news.

CATTLE CALL!
Every Wednesday is the cattle sale at the Oakley Livestock Commission. Cattle auction begins late morning till 5 :00 pm or the cattle are sold. Everyone is welcome. Come and see the livestock and auction. Plan to stay for lunch - burgers, sandwiches, daily specials and wonderful desserts

VFW CHICKEN FRY
The third Wednesday of each month is the "Stag & Stagette dinner at Oakley VFW Post 2981. Come enjoy chicken fried and all the fixin's. Proceeds support the VFW mission.
